Randy Whitten started Whitten's 2-Way Service in November of 1957, becoming a Motorola Authorized Service Station at the
same time. Motorola Authorized Service Station is commonly referred to as a Motorola MSS, and means a Authorized Warranty
Service Station for Motorola 2-way radios. The business was moved from the downstairs of Randy’s house to its current
location at 155 Robertson Boulevard in the East West Industrial Park in Brewer in December of 1987. The business became
incorporated in 1989. Whitten's 2-Way Service currently sells and services 2-Way Radios, and TOMAR Emergency Lighting products.
Randy Whitten retired from the business on September 30, 1997. The business is still family owned and operated.
Currently the business has 8 employees: Ruth Whitten, President, employed since September of 1975, Rick Sinclair, Technician,
employed since October of 1981, Bob Dorr, Technician, employed since April of 1985, John Monk, Technician, employed since
May of 1987, John Kingsbury, Vice President/General Manager, employed since January of 1989, Jeremy Priest, Sales, second
employment with the company, came back April of 2003, Jeremy was a technician with the company a couple years prior, for a 2
year term, Brian Smith, Accounts Receivable, employed since September of 2004, and Shad Lee, Installer, employed since
August of 2005.
